- San Diego County Board of Education, (12 years, President 2 terms), restored effective leadership needed to provide high quality education, provided all South County schools access to education technology resources, initiated science and technology academies
- California County Boards of Education, (8 years, President 1 term), established Professional Governance Standards for all California County School Boards
University Policy/Legal/Administrative Experience
- University of California San Diego, (Director “Student Legal Services” - 4 years & “Student Policies and Judicial Affairs” 23 years), co-authored and published the campus “Student Conduct Code” and the “Policy on Integrity of Scholarship”. Established student recruitment and parent outreach program
Goals for the Southwestern Community College District
- Restore effectiveness of executive leadership needed to provide high quality education and a nurturing and stable work place for students and all employees
- Increase students transferring to four year college/universities
- Increase quality of technology/career/workforce preparation and small business support programs
